ABOUT ME

MY STORY

Les Miserables

Peninsula Community Theater (2013)

When I was just 11 years old, my mom decided to share a video of me singing online. Little did we know that this simple act would change the course of my life. Someone in the comments kindly suggested I audition for a community theatre production of Les Miserables, which felt like a wild idea at the time, considering I had no idea what theatre really was. But with a nudge of encouragement, I decided to give it a shot. Surprisingly, I got cast as both Little Cosette and Little Eponine. It was during that show, under the stage lights, that my love for theatre was ignited. I realized the power of storytelling, of embodying different characters, and of sharing emotions with an audience. This experience not only introduced me to a creative outlet I never knew much about, but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for kindness and empathy, virtues I strive to embody both on and off the stage. To this day, I will always have a great appreciation for community theatre and my fellow castmates that helped guide and teach my young self.

After my first musical experience, I was hooked. The thrill of auditioning, the excitement of rehearsals, and the magic of performing on stage captivated me. Throughout high school, I continued to learn more about the world of theatre, exploring different roles and productions with joy and enthusiasm. When the time came to choose a major in college, I initially settled on music. However, after just one semester at James Madison University, I realized: my calling was theatre. With a bold decision, I switched my major, following my heart towards a future filled with creativity, expression, and endless possibilities.
